Jail Door Cross

This cross is part of an 1800s jail door of a demolished wooden jail on Red Mountain, Colorado.  The cross was found as it looks today; pressed in the red soil, from the shattered 1800s wooden jail door that had just been bulldozed/demolished.  The "head" of the cross figure is the hinge, and the red stains and holes are as it was found.  This jail held criminals, prostitutes and addicts...just the people that Jesus sets free and breaks the "jail doors" of our lives through His cross.  It was located right on the "Continental Divide" of the United States... great place for a cross of Christ.
